The straw that broke the camel's back

Ok now I know how that damn camel felt. I am so sick of stupid people and their inability to be honest. I am sick of being ignored. Sick of many other things as well but today was the last straw. If someone asks you a question, do you answer them? Uh, YES would be the correct answer. But some people don't seem to get that. Any answer is better than none at all. And the thing is I think that the situation is partly my fault. It almost always is to some extent. I tend to mess many things up for myself. Then I look back at the situation and can almost pinpoint the exact moment that caused the damn problem. BUT it is not entirely my fault and I refuse to take the blame for most of the stupid stuff people do. I'll take responsibility for my part and that's it. Why is it so hard for people to be nice? I'm just utterly and completely done. That's it. I will not be treated this way anymore. Period. From now on, I'm going to be completely, in-your-face honest. I'm going to stop trying to be someone else or who I think people want me to be and just be happy with who I am.

101 things in 1001 days

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

When am I starting? Thursday, May 1, 2008

When will my 1001 days be up? Thursday, January 27, 2011

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.
2. Stay Focused. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.
3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.
4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.
5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

I'm going to do it

I've been working on my list of 101 things in 1001 and it's almost finished. I didn't think I would ever get it done but I'm just a few away. I've already been working on some of the things on the list so my beginning date is earlier this month. I should be posting the entire list either today or tomorrow. YAY! :)
